Light Night 2010
Well. We couldn’t have hoped for a better Light Night. The space was super popular, we’re estimating 1200 people or so braved the ‘bloody tunnel’ to venture into the living story installation. Thanks to everyone who came down. We’re hoping to re-produce the installation again at a future date, so watch this space – or better yet, follow us on Facebook

There’s some galleries posted to the Facebook group and we’re hoping there’s going to be a video soon too.

Light Night Installation & Gig
UPDATE: PLEASE NOT SATURDAY 9TH SHOW NOW HAS AN EARLIER STARTING TIME OF 7PM DUE TO US BEING NEXT DOOR TO A VERY NOISY BAND WHICH STARTS AT 9PM!THANKS
Just to be clear. We are doing two things this weekend.
Friday 8th October
Light Night Installation
From 6.30pm – midnight : Dark Arches
Friday is Light Night in Leeds. Light Night is an annual event run by the council’s arts regeneration unit which funds art practitioners from Leeds to put on a show. That means all across Leeds, from Millenium Square, down Briggate, under the Dark Arches and through to Holbeck there will be lots of things to do and play with.
We have a shop unit under the dark arches and we’ve created an installation where you can explore some of the darker stories of Leeds’ underworld. This is a walk round experience which you should probably allow 20 – 30 minutes for.
If you venture down on Friday night, anytime after 6.30 you will be able to visit the installation as well as play with the light maze and be punted over the river by Charon…
Please note: there is no show on Friday night.
If you don’t know the dark arches are located in the tunnels underneath the train station:

Warning: the experience features strobe lighting and is dark and scary. It’s probably not that suitable for kids under 12, pregnant ladies, people of a faint heart or nervous disposition, people with epilepsy or if you get particularly claustrophobic!
Saturday 9th October
Anarchy in the Ultraverse – A Storyhunters Live Show
8.30pm – 11pm 7pm – 9pm : The Dark Arches
On Saturday we’re going to put on a show upstairs in the exhibition space. That means you’ll have another chance to experience the installation from 8.30pm and the show will start at 9pm. This is a really cool little space, it’s a bit different and we’re anticipating an intimate, special show.
There’s no bar (although we are located next door to a rather noisy pub The Hop) so bring your own booze!
The location is as above. All tickets are door only. Priced £9 or £6 for Facebook friends. You can sign up to the Storyhunters Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=30300876635&ref=ts
We hope you can make it to one or both of the events this weekend. We’re in talks at the moment about the next Anarchy shows which should see some more interesting locations. Watch this space!
Light Night
squ…eek
If you go down to the Dark Arches on the 8th October you’re in for a big surprise. Because from 6.30pm onwards we’ve got a brand new installation that will scare your socks off!

Come and say hello – and as an extra special treat we’re putting on the Anarchy in the Ultraverse show at 9pm 7pm the night after (that’s the 9th October) – special discounts for Facebook group members, so sign up herehttp://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=30300876635&ref=ts and you’ll get in for six quid!

Projects in the pipeline
We’ve been selected to take part in Light Night Leeds in October. Look out for us on October 8th down in the Dark Arches where we’ll be creating an installation based around the idea that the River Aire is a gateway to the River Styx and letting you listen in to the stories of the dead.
And watch out for a couple of new projects involving more collaborations with dancers.
Granary Wharfe Urban Story Walks
Don’t miss one of Joe’s Granary Wharfe urban story walks which take in the history of Leeds from the vantage point of the top of Candlehouse. Last Saturday of the month throughout the summer in line with the Pannier Market.
